In this webinar, you will learn the eligibility criteria for all of Social Security’s benefit programs. Besides retirement benefits, Social Security also offers disability benefits for individuals aged 18 years and older and survivor benefits for children and widowed spouses.

In addition, concerns about the future solvency of these programs will be addressed.

Finally, fraud awareness tips and an overview of the online services available through Social Security’s website will be provided. Workers can use these services throughout their careers for financial planning purposes and later, while collecting Social Security, to manage their benefits.

Matthew Baxter

Matt Baxter is Social Security’s public affairs specialist for Delaware as the Eastern Shore of Maryland and Virginia. Matt has worked for Social Security for fourteen years. Since 2014 he has coordinated the agency’s outreach efforts throughout his territory. Prior to serving in his current capacity, Matt spent seven years as a claims specialist in the Wilmington, DE field office, during which time he received a Commissioner’s Citation, the agency’s most prestigious employee award.

Matt grew up in Lancaster County, PA and graduated from Saint Joseph’s University with a B.A. in International Relations. He lives with his wife and two cats in Wilmington.
